Join us at the Gallery on Saturday 17 April to meet textile artists and directors of Fibre Arts Australia, Glenys Mann and Nonie Sutcliffe.

For over 25 years, Fibre Arts Australia has hosted workshops and events, giving professional and amateur artists from Australia and around the globe the opportunity to indulge their passion for creating art from fibre and textiles. Both Glenys and Nonie have an established career in textile art and will be available to meet with patrons and share their experience and passion for fibre and textiles.

The event will be held in conjunction with the exhibitions Works from Glenys Mann & Nonie Sutcliffe, Partners of Fibre Arts Australia and Art Textile Biennale 2020.

Mann’s series Beyond Silence, inspired by the stillness of the Little Rann Desert in Gujarat, India, explores the quiet power of simplicity.

In her series Sojourn, Sutcliffe uses free form, repetitive stitch on naturally dyed backgrounds to draw attention to the poetics of the natural world.

Come along for an opportunity to meet both Glenys and Nonie and learn more about their artistic practice and work with Fibre Arts Australia.
