“Rhythm Plus+” is Paul Hendon’s local band, with Miguel Close (guitar), Mitch Humphreys (double bass) and Hannah Groves (vocal). The group plays lots of swing standards, but particularly enjoys finding those not so common tunes from the swing era, such as “From Monday On” and “Dark Eyes”.

Since the inclusion of the delightful upcoming young vocalist Hannah Groves, Paul has enjoyed playing alto sax (which he discovered suits the range of female vocalists better than his traditional Bb instruments), as well as incorporating keyboard (piano & vibes) into the mix.

As with all of Paul’s bands (he has four different combos on the go), this group plays melodic, swinging jazz that appeals to listeners and dancers alike.

Joining us on the night will be the fabulous local vocal ensemble, Choirbolical. We are delighted to have them back again and they will delight the crowd with their beautiful harmonies. Choirbolical is a Toowoomba Community Choir. Formed in 2002 following a workshop in 2001 by renowned musical educator, James Cuskelly, Choirbolical is a choir for all those who love to sing, with or without musical experience. The Musical Director for 2022 is Morgan Chalmers. Morgan brings a wealth of musical knowledge and experience to the role.
