Join resident hand weaver Joy Cook to create a wagon wheel mat.

Discover traditional weaving techniques and create a unique woven piece inspired by historical circular rugs once handwoven on wagon wheels. Perfect for home decor or practical use, your finished piece can serve as a place setting, table decoration, wall art, coaster and more.

Meet your tutor

Joy Cook has been hand weaving for over twenty years. She loves using natural fibres like silk, cotton, wool and alpaca, creating complex patterns through different dying and weaving techniques. Joy is passionate about weaving and is a member of the Toowoomba Spinners, Weavers and Dyers Group. She is a regular demonstrator at Queensland Museum Cobb+Co.

All our Hands-on Workshops have a limited number of participants to ensure you receive all the assistance and direction you require.

Spectators are welcome at all workshops.
