A workshop in fingerstyle guitar with a focus on creating different feels and improvisation

This is the first of three guitar workshops with prominent Australian guitarists at USQ Artsworx this year!

With a focus on improvisation, this workshop will expand your technical knowledge across multiple music genres.

Participants will learn a number of approaches, which will help them to play a variety of styles in solo guitar, focusing on jazz and blues for the improvisation element. Adam will also introduce you to the concept of developing the freedom to improvise while playing multiple parts.

This workshop is suitable for both acoustic, electric and bass guitar and is scheduled immediately before Adam’s feature concert in the USQ Arts Theatre – a ticket to the concert is included in your workshop tuition.

About Adam Miller

Named on the top 25 future legends list by Australian Guitar Magazine, Adam Miller is an impossibly talented guitar player based in Newcastle Australia.

As the Australian Fingerstyle Champion (2002) it’s no surprise that his unimaginable talent has received accolades world-wide.

His sound has been described as ‘a relentless propulsive groove that’s downright danceable’ by Acoustic Guitar Magazine.

While AcousticUK says ’(fellow guitar) players will shake their heads at his precision, technical facility and sheer verve.’

His talent has seen him play with Les Paul, Tommy Emmanuel, Matt Schofield, Charlie Hunter, Adam Levy, Tony McManus, Jim Black and Ben Gillies (Silverchair) to name a few.
