The concept of the solstice and equinox was embedded in ancient Greek celestial navigation.  For gardeners however, these turning points in the length of the days and nights are still so important they’re worth designing your gardening calendar around, because it’s how plants recognise the seasons. Here at Bunnyconnellen, we have taken these events to signal the start of a new culinary adventure and accordingly we introduce you to the 'Equinox Pop-up Cooking School’ hosted by some of the most innovative chefs in the region and in this case Matt Golinski one of the regions finest local food product supporters.

First up we will visit the kitchen garden and collect herbs and vegetables to accompany the feast ahead. We will then plant new seedlings ready for the next season and replenish what has been consumed by this cooking school and long table lunch.

Next, we will share the secrets of wholesome bread.  Get your hands floured up to kneed and create your very own loaf to take home.

Matt will take over and demonstrate and oversee our school.  He will share with you a number of ‘insider’ techniques and cheffing tips along the journey. As we progress we will devour some of the produce to keep the wolves at bay until our long table lunch.

On completion of the cooking school we will clear the decks for a sumptuous long table luncheon consisting 07 of a number of the foods cooked and demonstrated during the morning.
