Friday at the Flicks is a series that screens classic, significant and challenging films. A five-minute pre-screening talk sets the context and then post-show drinks and nibbles allow for a post-show discussion with a community of film enthusiasts.
The City of Lost Children
A haunting, visually-stunning tale of innocence and evil from the unique mind of director Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie, Delicatessen).
An atmospheric look into the unusual mind of director Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie, Delicatessen), The City of Lost Children tells the tale of a scientist who traps children to steal their dreams in order to slow him aging.
As visually compelling as it is grotesque, this French/German film envelopes you in a futuristic, steampunk world of sinister characters in an entanglement between innocence and evil.
France/Germany, 1995.
