Our wonderful gardens have achieved a 'Highly Commended' award in last years Carnival of Flowers Garden Competition in the 'Not-For-Profit Organisations' category.

Informative guided site tours are available with one of our friendly & knowledgeable volunteer tour guides. Learn more about the history of DownsSteam and our extensive rolling stock restoration program, including Toowoomba’s own steam locomotive no.106, the Gatsby Flyer Railmotor and vintage diesel locomotive 1172.

A must see is our unique Dreamtime Journey Carriage, featuring exquisite paintings by the talented indigenous artist “Domi”. Fully immerse yourself in a journey through a day in the dreamtime with Domi’s recorded audio commentary.

Enjoy tasty treats from our kitchen along with great coffee from our volunteer barista, whilst relaxing in one of our three air-conditioned ‘lander’ lounge coaches, on our country style platform or in our charming gardens.
