We have a full program lined up for our final FLA Meat Up of 2018 featuring multiple site visits. Attendees will be taken on a half day program including 3 site visits.

Departing from Toowoomba to Stanthorpe the first stop is Bratasha Farm - Bratasha Farm is a family-owned business established over 20 years ago by Ray and Nancy Bertinazzi. Bratasha is Queensland’s largest supplier of Asian vegetables to one of Australia’s major supermarkets. The range of Asian vegetables include:  buk choy, pak choy baby, choy sum, baby cos lettuce and English spinach. They are also a summer supplier of capsicums. Bratasha Farm controls the whole growing system from seeding through to harvest, producing a fresh, clean and healthy product which meets strict quality assurance systems.

The next stop is Pikes Creek Packhouse for a tour with Andrew Finlay. Pikes Creek Packhouse is a vertically integrated low chill stone fruit producer and consolidator, packing for the domestic market.

The final stop is Granite Belt Brewery for dinner - Granite Belt Brewery is set on 30 acres of natural bushland just five minutes from Stanthorpe and includes 19 cedar cabins, a restaurant and function center. It is a popular weekend retreat catering for conferences, weddings and family get-aways. Developed by Geoff Davenport a boutique microbrewery has been incorporated into this accommodation center.

While at this final stop, we will receive an update from Netpro Canopies – Lindsay Adams (Sales Manager, Horticulture) and Mick Thompson (Projects Development Manager – Feedlots). Since 1992, Netpro has been providing protective structures to farms and industry. Each structure is designed to complement the topography and to achieve the objectives of each client. NetPro has grown from the original small team to a large organisation, with our own workshops, warehouse, and head office.  Although located in regional Queensland, they operate throughout Australia and New Zealand, structures are in demand in the USA, and they are involved in projects as far afield as Japan, and South Africa.

The bus will then depart back to Toowoomba.
