Chess is not just a battle of minds: the ancient game is a healthy way to make friends and build better communities. Through chess we develop creative, logical and lateral thinking, as well as improve concentration and problem solving skills - all of which are desperately needed for academic success.

Chess in the Park is a family friendly event where students and their parents/guardians may visit to learn the basics and/or play chess. Parents/guardians must stay with the children participating - we are not offering a child minding service. There are no prizes to win so we are not playing for sheep stations. Register and join us at 3:00pm in Queen's Park Botanic Gardens, near Lindsay St. (look for the green flags). 

Registrations are required so we may trace participants in case of COVID-19 issues. Also, with registrations, we know who to contact in case of cancellations.
