LOCAL GREEN HOME OPENS TO PUBLIC
Sustainable House Day 2018

Sustainable House Day will be opening homes to the public on Sunday, September 16.

Established in 2001, Sustainable House Day is a national event that allows the public to see and learn from the best environmental homes in Australia. It aims to inspire people to live sustainably, showing them how to lower energy bills, live comfortably and help the environment through good home design, practices and technology. 

Renew Toowoomba Branch (Alternative Technology Assoc.) are pleased to announce the opening of a local dwelling to pass on tips and advice, including solar power, home batteries, off-grid living, innovative building materials and design, and more.  The building designer & owners will be taking guided tours of the house at regular intervals throughout the day.

Sustainable House Day is a valuable resource for anyone looking for practical information on sustainable homes: what works, what doesn’t, and how to move towards ‘greener’ living. 

Sustainable House Day 2016 won the United Nations Association of Australia's Climate Action Award for Climate Education and Engagement.
