Event Overview

• Following on from previous Future of Jobs events in 2021 and 2022, this forum will include presentations from leading educators and Industry sectors in the Toowoomba region.  Join them in sharing insights on overcoming barriers and addressing employment gaps identified in our local community now and into the future.
• Predictions for the makeup of the future workforce in Toowoomba, inclusive of digital data collection for informed career decisions, and results that will be analysed for a report to Department of Education, Small Business and Training.
• Impacts of current economy for the following 6-12 months for jobseekers and employers amid cost of living.
• Series of guest panels to investigate how we can provide improved opportunities for people to experience different industries and occupations and make better decisions about their future careers.

The aim of the forum is to:

• Share plans, identify skills requirements and plan to prepare the Toowoomba workforce for the foreseeable future
• Identify the work that needs to be done at the education and training level, to ensure there is a pool of qualified/skilled applicants to choose from when the time comes for employers to recruit over the next decade
• Hear directly from industry representatives about their workforce challenges
• Identify innovative solutions for workforce issues in the Toowoomba Region
