Scale Up Your Throwing: 1-Day Workshop with Aurora Elwell

This skill-based workshop provides an opportunity for potters that use the wheel to level up their skills and throwing abilities. With personalised guidance from experienced tutor and ceramicist, Aurora Elwell, participants will each receive advice catered to their current capabilities. 

This workshop is not suitable for beginners, each participant must be able to centre at least one kilo of clay prior to the workshop. This exercise requires prior knowledge and some experience of throwing.

All clay provided to participants is theirs to use and take home. 

PLEASE NOTE: This is a skills-based workshop; the firing of resulting works will not be provided. Participants are welcome to take their creations with them, recycle them, or organise firing separate to the workshop through the DDPC or privately.

Provided:

• DDPC workroom facilities
• 1 x Venco pottery wheel per student to use throughout workshop
• 2 x blocks of clay per participant
• 1 x heat gun per student 
• Basic tool supplies

Participants to bring:

• Tools: wooden rib, metal kidney, needle tool, cutting wire, sponge.
• Apron
• Closed in shoes
• A large lidded bucket to transport clay home
• Lunch, Snacks, Water bottle

Parking is available on site, via the Herries Street carpark entrance

Basic kitchen facilities available: Fridge, Microwave, Kettle etc
