Deb Mostert | Drawing Creatures – a Natural History Sketchbook | Watercolour and Ink

An exploration into the creatures of the natural world, and how we can make observations and documentation in the context of our sketchbooks.  We will walk in the footsteps of explorers, scientists and biologists, and will learn some comparative anatomy, how to look for gestural clues and make note of perspective and form. Many fun drawing exercises later, you will go home with a sketchbook filled with ways to see and appreciate the critters around us.  Our models will be animals, birds and insects and we will draw from life using taxidermy mounts, field trips, collections of real specimens as well as from photo reference and this will help us practice building solid drawing foundations.
