Keen to clear your head and get some fresh air after a big New Year's Eve? This two-hour walking tour of one of Queensland’s oldest surviving cemeteries brings the Toowoomba region’s incredible history to life.
This isn’t a ghost tour: Tall tales simply aren’t needed when the real lives and deaths of locals reveal gripping stories of hardships and hangings, triumph and tragedy, ingenuity and innovation, mischief and murder.
Along with unearthing the stories of some fascinating people who rest in the Drayton & Toowoomba Cemetery, the tour will explore cemetery symbolism, craftsmanship, and funerary and burial practices of a bygone era.
