Deb Mostert and David Bongiorno discuss the importance of capturing the human body in their individual practices, as they sketch and draw from the theatre stage.
Deb Mostert‘s art practice is over 30 years young and involves drawing, painting, small sculpture, and public art. Interested in objects and collections of social and natural history, her artworks use gentle, offbeat narratives and a crisp aesthetic pointing to beauty, truth, and grace. Her works have been shortlisted into many national art prizes and are in state and private collections.
David Bongiorno is an award-winning figurative artist. He has participated in national art prizes including shortlisting in Naked and Nude Art Prize, 2015, “Emerging Wearable Artist Winner” Australian Wearable Art Festival 2022, “Highly Commended” Waterbrook Drawing Prize 2023 and shortlisting in Lethbridge 20,000 2024.
