Festival of Chariots - Rath Yatra

 Celebrating the first time in Toowoomba Ratha Yatra Festival 

The Festival of Chariots (Jagannath Rathyatra) is a grand procession with much fanfare – colours, music, and an atmosphere of peace and positivity.

It symbolizes a procession of peace and cohesion – bringing people of all backgrounds together for the one purpose of pulling a royal chariot through the streets.

Atop the chariot sits the Lord of The Universe, who comes out to greet the people. The festival comes to the people, not the people to the festival.

 When 
Saturday, 22 July 2023, Starting at 10:30 a.m

 Chariot Parade 

Starting at 10:30 a.m., travel along Neil and Herries Streets from the Chalk Lane parking lot at 18 Neil St. in Toowoomba City to Civic Square (Toowoomba City Library)

 Festival 

At the Civic Square, starting at 12:00 p.m. The Civic Square can be found behind the library building at the corner of Herries and Victoria Streets, Toowoomba.

- 11:45 a.m.: Inauguration

- 12:00 p.m.: Free food distribution

- 12:00 p.m.: stage performances  including Dance, Drama, Music , Yoga Performances , Ancient Wisdom and Philosophy

- 3:00 p.m.: Stage Program Ends

- 4:00 p.m.: Festival Closes
